The Aviva offices are located in a building designed in 1967 by Kelsey & Ladd Architects. The building, almost reminescent of a Japanese temple, has a very efficient organization. The renovation of this structure involved the renewal of existing spaces and at times a thorough reorganization to provide spaces capable of meeting office functions and serving as support spaces for the school next door. Elements of the project include the creation of a computer lab, an observation area, a large commercial size kitchen to serve the existing cafeteria/multipurpose room, a link bridge from the second floor to the roof of the school, and a luminous new entry which became a transluscent and clear glass drape for the original entry way.
